Review:
This original work by Barb Scheffter is exciting and compelling. It is immediately engaging and will uplift everyone’s spirits! Barb shared that her inspiration was how we persevere, joyfully, through all life sends our way. The melody is wonderful and appears throughout in various voicings and styles. Use of malleted bass propels this forward but there are many sections where the bass also rings and supports the interesting motifs happening elsewhere in the score. Other techniques include TD, mart, echo, RT, and shakes. There are amazing transitions from major to minor and back again with very nicely-crafted key changes included. Dynamics add to the delight of this incredible work. It is lively, filled with joy, and will definitely become an audience and ringer favorite!
