Review:
Kurt has created an original work that is lyrical, meditative, appropriate in either sacred or secular settings. The title, Resilience, is representative of the calm and consistent forward movement that serves us well as we meet life’s challenges. Opening with handchimes in the melody and the ongoing LV bell accompaniment imparts a gentle feel and minimal dynamics. The use of many LV phrases, echoes, and nuanced, expressive tempo variations as the melody is shared in other voices creates a lovely, relaxed moment in worship or concert.
