Review:
This lovely marrying of the Bach “Sheep May Safely Graze…” and a sweet Polish carol results in beautiful music perfect for any worship service or concert. Written in Eb major, it is filled with many gentle dynamic expressions. Derek has worked his magic once again with melody primarily in the treble bells and sometimes doubled in the bass then briefly appearing in handchimes while the top bells ring gentle LV accompaniment grounded by gentle Plucks in the bass line. Addition of echoes and a very creative segue that seems to lead to a key change… but does not – add to the magic. This is such a subtly creative work it is bound to become a ‘go-to’ favorite in your group’s repertoire.
