Review:
When premiered as the prelude to a Lessons & Carols Service, four trombones played from the balcony with the handbells and solo handbell tree located in the chancel area. Enjoy the antiphonal effects of the trombones and the bells as they present the HYFRYDOL tune with interwoven interludes. The second stanza begins with a gentle, chordal handchime accompaniment to the solo, and ends with all forces combined. A reduction of the trombone parts for organ or synthesizer is also available. The solo part has options for a handbell tree or solo treble (C, Bb or Eb) instrument or solo bass C instrument.
