Review:
A delightful piece by Cathy Moklebust based on Psalm 100 (“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth”) containing dynamic rhythms, beautiful contrasts, and a lovely melody. The piece is arranged in three distinct sections: a spirited “joyful noise,” reflection on “Know that the Lord, He is God,” and an energetic “Enter His gates with thanksgiving,” all following the contour of the psalm text. Mallets and martellato techniques are used. An optional reader part may be used to narrate the psalm coordinated with the music. Use this piece with any festive occasion in praise of God.
