Review:
James has drawn from his experience as a college and school jazz band director to create this original and clever ‘bluesy’ work in D-minor for handbells. A typical bass pedal line is malleted supporting all the syncopated fun. He has included optional bass and drum set, some ‘mallet gimmicks,’ and a 16-bar percussion section that may be omitted.
