Review:
Commissioned by the late Tim Waugh as a gift to Charlotte Bronze Handbell Ensemble, this charming novelty piece includes bowed chimes and bells, slamming bell-case lids, and the buzzing “Klocken Carta” technique. The title is an onomatopoeia based on an impetuous little four-note figure inspired by a haunted-house coffin worthy of the mischief of Scooby-Doo! Giving new meaning to “out of the box,” this piece is a fun balance of creepy and silly, ending with a raucous dance party perfect for theme concerts: it's just dying to be your next encore!
