Review:
Winner of the 1997 AGEHR - AREA II Festival - Conference Young Ringers Original Composition Contest, "Conversation" is an antiphonal dialogue between Choir I (2 to 3-octaves of hand chimes) and Choir II (3 to 5-octaves of hand bells). The composer writes, "This is a program piece. Choir I is the voice of the child and Choir II signifies the parents." If only one choir is available, the other part may be played on a keyboard instrument. If wanted, dancers may interpret the music while it is being played. A big sounding work that begins in g minor, but with easily played rhythms.
