Review:
This could almost be labeled a "handbell solo" since only one bell (a F4) is called for. The music is written in chant style, is unmetered and free with the bell sounding at the end of sung phrases. Anyone could ring this - as long as they watched the director closely. The chant begins in the bass and then gradually adds other voices until it reaches a chorale with somewhat of a steady tempo. The chants are from various years (as early as 530) and various places. An interesting work in which the sound of a single bell enhances worship.
