Review:
HYFRYDOL is perhaps one of the most arranged hymn tunes in bell catalogs. Here it is set for 3-5 octaves with the suggestion that by substituting the title "Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus" the piece can be used during Advent. The advanced bell choir will enjoy ringing the variety of styles within the piece. After the introduction a straight-forward statement of the hymn occurs in F major. The congregation may sing along with this verse. Following the second statement of the tune tin G major, the piece moves to C major where the accompaniment is plucked. Other performance notes are given.
