Review:
Optional handchimes add a special quality to this 3, 4, 5 or 6 octave arrangement of the favorite advent plainsong. The introduction is a play on the melodic motif "O Come." The chimes enter on the melody with a sparse, open accompaniment in the lower bells. The mood of the whole work is mystical and ethereal. As if to hint at the celebration of Christ's birth to come, a two measure trumpet-like fanfare appears toward the end of the piece.
