A BIG work, this arrangement of the tune NATIONAL HYMN is set for 3 to 5 octaves of handbells with SATB voices, Organ or Keyboard, and optional Glockenspiel, C-instrument, or Handchimes.The choral parts offer two verses-one from "Heralds of Christ" the other from "God of the Ages." The opening alternates between fanfare material rung by the bells and sung verse phrases accompanied by the organ. The second verse smoothes out as the Glockenspiel or other instrument and organ accompany the voices. An instrumental section ensues before the final "blow-out" ending section.
