Review:
The plaintive, French carol melody is set in 49 measures in simple style. After an opening of descending scale passages the tune appears in the lower bells but soon gravitates to the upper range. Imitative passages using the theme are employed in the next section. The final section is full and strong and leads to a full stop before the final three measures where the tune is played in free manner.
