Review:
When sung, Henry Smith's comtemporary praise chorus lilts along in smooth and sustained tones. However, in this setting, the arranger spices up and energizes the mood with a syncopated, driving accompaniment from the get go. Other textures include march-like passages complete with staccato technique and a solumn, intense section with sustained chords and echo technique. The energy returns for the final section and goes out with a bang.
