Review:
Based on the Hebrew melody "Leoni" and originally transcribed by Meyer Lyon (1751-1799), this setting for 3-6 octaves of handbells with 3-4 octaves of handchimes OR tonechimes. (chimes used range from D6 - D7) presents the melody in three moods. The first, a basic, chordal presentation; the second, a flowing, eighth-note accompaniment played by mallets on tabled bells or thumb damped; and third, with chimes on the melody and bells on a syncopated accompaniment. 75 measures in length.
