Review:
This well-loved Christmas carol sets to music our thoughts and feelings about the town of Bethlehem nestled below the hillside on that starry Christmas night. Cynthia Dobrinski's expressive arrangement follows the meaning of the text very closely, and even offers a middle verse in the harmonic minor key. The final section returns to the major key with a build of energy, then settles into a gentle mood for a quiet ending.
