Review:
This spirited piece for bell tree and handbell choir does not require any duplicate bells; in fact, much of the handbell choir part is played on chimes. A winner of the 2021
Into the Forest Bell Tree Composition Contest, "Air and Hornpipe" is perfect for a level 2 to 3 choir and a bell tree ringer with basic bell tree experience desiring a bit of a challenge as it is recommended that the bell tree part be memorized. Several adjudicators remarked that this piece is "fun to play!" while another noted that it would be a "great festival opener."
Note: A non-reproducible bell tree part is printed at the end of the score; please purchase an additional copy for the bell tree ringer to use for practice.
Also available for bell tree solo with piano accompaniment (
