Leroy Anderson introduced this playful composition to audiences by saying he had often wondered what a clock would sound like if, instead of going “tick-tock, tick-tock,” it went “tock-tick-tock.” Arranged by Martha Lynn Thompson for 3-5 octaves of handbells, optional handchimes, and incorporating the original (not optional) percussion scoring for wood block, triangle (alarm clock), cow bell, and wind whistle, this piece has a mixture of stopped techniques (Pl/mallets or TD) and ringing – all in quick succession.

Thundersnow is an unusual kind of thunderstorm, with snow falling instead of rain. It typically occurs in regions of strong upward motion within the cold sector of an extra-tropical cyclone. This tone poem captures the feel of the gently falling snow becoming more intense and yes – even lightning and thunder - portrayed by creative, rhythmic malleting, mart-lifts and shakes.

Fresh and creative describe Linda Lamb's moving arrangement of this great hymn. The 4/4 meter with a slight syncopation works beautifully. Your ringers and congregation both will love this one!
