Alabama JuBELLee:  Various,Stephenson, V.,WB
Three fun tunes are included in this medley: "Alabama Jubilee, Stars Fell On Alabama, and Tuxedo Junction". Arranger Valerie W. Stephenson applies her usual creative techniques to achieve the character of each tune.

Alpha Series for Handbells Volume 1:  Various,Waldrop, T.,RW
The Alpha Series is for 2-3 octave choirs and written to appeal to children through senior adult; it contains easy chordal arrangements.

American Fantasy, An:  Various,Moklebust, C.,PO
This easy chordal medley combines "The Star Spangled Banner, My Country 'tis of Thee," and "America the Beautiful."

Bit of Bach, A:  Bach, Johann Sebastian,Rogers, Sharon Elery,AP
Actually, it's three separate bits of Bach under one cover. "Gavotte" is from the English Suite in D minor. "Prelude in C" is from the Well-Tempered Clavier and "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" comes from Bach's Cantata 147.

Brother James' Air:  Macbeth, J.,Page, A. L.,AP
The beautiful tune by J. L. Macbeth (1840-1925) is enhanced through use of seven optional handchimes (from G#5 to A6) and flute (score is included on the back page). Since the tempo is relaxed throughout, the sixteenth-note patterns should note be a problem for the intermediate bell choir, however, some separate drill may be necessary to achieve precision.

Canon of Grace:  Various,Lamb, Linda R.,AP
Two beloved melodies "Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel and "Amazing Grace" by John Newton, are combined in this arrangement with open-spaced textures and few bell changes. Dynamics range from p to ff and offer a distinct challenge to developing ringers.

Carols of the Manger:  Various,Schram, R.,AP
"Playfully" is the character marking given to this medley of "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly; Away in a Manger; and Coventry Carol". This mostly straight-forward rendition of the tunes adds interest on the final page with bell and tempo changes.

Climbing Up the Mountain:  ,Thompson, M. L.,AP
Creative rhythmic interests spice up this setting of the traditional spiritual (whose text is given on the final page in the performance notes). The ringers should have fun with the different articulations including martellato and mart-lifts.

Fanfare of Praise:  Frier, L.,,RW
25 measures of full ringing with a few shakes thrown in highlight this original composition for novice handbell or chime ringers.

Here I Am Lord:  Schutte, D.,Sherman, A.,HP
Dan Schutte's popular anthem is here arranged with 4 possible performance options: 1) Handbells alone, 2) Bells and optional handchimes, 3) bells and SATB voices and 4) bells and unison voices. A freely sung opening may be sung by a solo or section or rung on bells. A lovely work for whatever performance venue fits your situation!

How Great Thou Art:  Various,Helman, M.,AP
Chimes or Bells will feel equally at home in this medley of the title tune and "This Is My Father's World". The melodies are clearly marked throughout with melody lines, enabling the ringers to "track" the music. The LV and shake techniques are used.

If Thou But Suffer God to Guide Thee:  Neumark, G.,McChesney, K.,HP
By layering the contrasting sounds of staccato chords and rung peals, the arranger sets a powerful mood for the melody's entrance. A contrasting section smoothes the texture out before returning to the opening material. The piece ends on a bold "Ring Touch".

I'll Fly Away:  Various,Waldrop, T.,RO
"Some glad morning, when this life is o'er, I'll fly away". Albert Brumley's beloved gospel tune is here combined with "In the Sweet By and By" for a toe-tapping time for 3, 4 or 5 octaves. Lots of staccato technique (especially for the bass bells).

In the Garden:  Miles, C. A.,McChesney, K.,JH
3, 4 & 5 octaves of bells combine with 3, 4 or 5 octaves of optional chimes to present a sweet but sincere setting of C. Autin Miles' well-known hymn. The texture is predominantly chordal, and staccato notes may be thumb damped, plucked, or lightly marted.

Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho:  Traditional,Thompson, Martha Lynn,HP
For all of those 4 and 5 octave young ringers' choirs who have a difficult time finding fun, playable but interesting music in that octave range your search is over! Full texture, lots of fun techniques and a moderate tempo combine to make this piece a winner. Of course, more skilled choir would enjoy "ringing the walls down" as well!

Joy to the World:  Handel, G. F.,Edwards, D.,AP
The "JOY" in this setting fo the favorite carol is achieved musically with strong textures, mart-lifts, shakes, echos, and thumb damps. Scored to keep all ringers involved and each register to be parft of the melody at some time during the piece. Performance notes are given on the final page.

Lord of Glory:  Pritchard, Rowland H.,Geschke, Susan E.,AP
This selection is a setting of the familiar hymn tune HYFRYDOL, and is appropriate for any time of the year. An alternate title, "Come Thou Long Expected Jesus" makes it useful during Advent. Especially useful as a teaching piece for beginning ringers because of its repetition of passages.

Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace:  McChesney, Kevin, ,JH
Dedicated to the victims of the shooting at Columbine High School and other acts of senseless violence, this original composition's mood is based upon the 13th-century prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.

A narrator may read the prayer (included in the full score) during the playing of the piece - see page 15 of the full score for additional performance options and notes.

March of the Chimes:  Hollander, L.,,RO
2, 3 or 4 octaves of chimes or handbells sound equally strong on this bold march that combines fanfare, full chordal ringing and antiphonal textures in 68 measures. For worship consider the optional title: Glory March.

My Friend Jesus:  Various,Waldrop, T.,AP
"I Have Decided to Follow Jesus and What a Friend We Have in Jesus" are the two tunes which make up this arrangement. A lilting mood is scored for the first tune and a straight-forward setting with the echo technique for the second. Mostly chordal in texture with an ample supply of special technique.

Now the Green Blade Riseth:  ,McChesney, Kevin,HP
"Sing We Now of Christmas" is the alternate title to this tune. However, the energetic nature of this entire work suggests the vigorous growth of Spring, when the grass turns green. This energy is set up with a driving bass clef-rhythm pattern played by mallets on tabled bells.

O Sacred Head Now Wounded:  Hassler, H.,Sherman, A.,HP
This version of "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded" is a chordal, contemplative arrangement of the "Passion Chorale." The tempo marking is larghetto, but the arrangement is full, keeping all ringers busy.

PDQ Bells:  McChesney, K., ,JH
With section titles like "Eine Kleine What was that?", "Elise's Furballs", and "Taco Bell's Canon" you've got to know this spoof, patterned after PDQ Bach, is a hodgepodge of a "phony sym-phony".

Praise the Father:  Various,Page, A. L.,AP
Dynamic contrast is an important feature of this setting of the majestic hymn "Stuttgart", which has been set to many texts. "All Things Bright and Beautiful" is incorporated into the work as well. Performance notes give ideas and suggestions for perfecting the work.

Rejoice Ye Pure in Heart:  Messiter, A.,Page, A. L.,AP
Ring-Mart, Lift-Mart Lift is a reoccurring pattern that produces a march-like feel to this regal hymn. A crisp, energetic tempo is called for with lots of opportunities to work on precision ringing! Fully scored to keep all ringers involved.

Ride the Chariot:  Various,Page, Anna Laura,AP
The combination of syncopations and articulations in this medley of the title tune and "Swing Low Sweet Chariot", creates interest for the ringers. Optional handchimes (3 oct. range) for the second meloldy. Additional performance notes give helpful suggestions for executing techniques.

Ring Out Joyfully:  Mackie, K., ,FB
Festive! A technically demanding piece because of the tempo. Great study in multiple ringing techniques.

Ring Together Church Year:  Various,McChesney, Kevin,JH
Kevin McChesney continues the popular Level 1 Ring Together series with this versatile collection of tunes suitable for use all year long.

Ring Together Gospel Hymns:  Various,McChesney, K.,JH
Each Ring Together collection contains five arrangements designed to aid the musical and technical growth of the ringing choir.

Ring Together Praise:  Various,McChesney, K.,JH
Each Ring Together! collection contains five arrangements designed to aid the musical and technical growth of the ringing choir. There are no page turns, and all tunes in this folio are of the same difficulty level.

River, The:  Various,Page, A. L.,AP
A harmonically rich medley of "Shall We Gather at the River" & "Peace Like a River."

Second Suite for Handbells:  Helman, M., ,AG
Commissioned for an Area Young Ringers' festival this original work has four short movements: Prelude with chordal texture, Soliloquy with the echo technique, Grand March with staccato technique and Scherzo with martellato in fast tempo. A valuable resource to work on all year for a grand finale concert!

Shades of Forest Green:  ,Waugh, T.,RO
This setting of the familiar English melody is contemplative and mystical and is especially effective during Advent and Christmas. Mallets and finger cymbals are widely used throughout.

Silent Night:  Gruber, F.,Moklebust, C.,JH
Although this is a "stand-alone" handbell arrangement (optional handchimes, organ and congregation) it is most effective when used as a congregational accompaniment to the singing of this favorite Christmas carol.

Song of the Morning:  Burswold, L., ,RW
Mixolydian mode (lowered 7th scale step in a major key) and major tonality intermingle in this ethereal and calming original composition that requites BOTH bells and flute. One can almost picture monks strolling through the monastary garden deep in prayer for the coming day.

Songs of America:  Various,Wagner, D.,NM
A medley of the tunes "My Country Tis of Thee, O Beautiful for Spacious Skies and The Battle Hymn of the Republic". Uses shakes, tolls, etc. A proven winner among choirs and audiences!

Towers:  Moklebust, C., ,AG
Comissioned for an AGEHR area festival/conference, and in memory of Ellen Jane Lorenz Porter, this original composition is based on a "plain hunt" change ringing pattern. Performance notes give detailed instruction for ringing of the peals. 126 measures in length.

Variations on Madrid:  ,Helman, M.,AG
"Come, Christians, Join to Sing," is the most used text for this hymn-tune. Here it is presented in a big, chordal setting, a staccato accompaniment section, a slow, flowing section which utilizes the echo technique and then back to the beginning texture.
