Review:
Your ringers and audience will love this upbeat spiritual that surprises with marts and claps in the final section! "Down by the Riverside" is offered in two different 2-octave versions: "A" is Level 2- and "B" is Level 1+, an important distinction in this case. Written for two similar groups with slightly different needs, each version engages ringers in a different way yet offers all a full ringing experience throughout the piece. "B" can be played with as few as 12 bells (6 ringers). "A" can be played with 6 ringers as well, if you have an adept 4iH ringer for C6 up. The bonus piece "A Joyful Day" is a class composition project by Kath's 6th grade handbell class at Redeemer Classical School. The subtitle "Edakafad" is made up of the first initial of each student in the class. They created the melody and rhythms, decided on chord progressions and accompaniment patterns, demanded a section with mallets and loved playing "their" piece. Enjoy!!
