Review:
Introduce an aspiring ringer to Bell Tree or solo/duet ringing with this very easy, straightforward 1 octave rendition of Jesus Loves Me. It is accessible for 1, 2 or 3 octaves thanks to five score formats: “A1” for G5-G6 (2 oct. – my favorite set-up), “A2” for G4-G5 (2 oct. – most likely rung off the table), “B1” for C6-C7 (3 oct. – the “standard” belltree set-up), “B3” for C5-C6 (1 oct.), and “B4” for C4-C5 (to ring off the table). All BT scores can also played as Early Beginner piano scores – and each range has a very easy piano accompaniment (“A2” and “B2”) allowing 2 young musicians to successfully collaborate in worship or concert. The secondo “piano” parts can also be played on bells or chimes by an ensemble to accompany the soloist. A trio or sextet could ring from all three C-C scores (or a duet/quartet on the two G-G scores) sharing their top/bottom bells with each other. All scores are reproducible to allow for individual marking and practice at home, if needed. Part of the “First String” Series from ringTrue (which features 1 octave Bell Tree pieces) and the “little gems” Series (solos/duets/ensembles), “Jesus Loves Me” can be a first exciting step into both of these fascinating areas.
