Eleven optional handchimes in the upper, 3-octave range add a touch of reverence to this setting of the favorite old hymn. Flowing and soothing rhythms accompany the gentle melody, but, like many a prayer, the music grows more fervent and strong calling for adamant chords in quarter-note rhythms. The final section combines these two thoughts.

Optional chimes and echo and LV technique add a sense of serenity to this straight-forward setting of the old hymn by Daniel B. Towner (1887). Performance notes are given to accommodate 3,4 and 5 octaves of bells.

The text, "Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!" is clearly expressed in this triumphant setting of Eugene Bartlett's hymn.
