Amy Grant’s poignant and haunting contemporary Christmas classic has been set for 3-7 octaves of handbells and optional handchimes. The opening suspended mallets create an ethereal backdrop for this well-known text which shares the inner voice of Mary as she journeys to Bethlehem to give birth to the Christ child.

"Carillon of Praise" is an energetic, joyous original composition that includes a stanza of the John Goss hymn tune LAUDA ANIMA, or “Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven.” With its constant eighth note carillon patterns, and extensive use of LV, this piece shimmers from beginning to end.

Karen Buckwalter expertly weaves together the tune ADESTE FIDELES with the “For Unto Us a Child Is Born” chorus from Handel’s Messiah. The two tunes alternate seamlessly back and forth and are later combined, providing new harmonic and scriptural insight to both.

The Hallelujah Ringers of Trinity United Methodist in Murfreesboro commissioned the always-creative Michael Glasgow to arrange the nostalgic Septimus Winner hymn “Whispering Hope.” An ethereal, peaceful introduction leads to a gentle, flowing treatment of the tune, with a meditative interweaving of “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”

Jazz riffs and interesting chords give this spiritual arrangement a lot of character and life! The indication “Forcefully, with a backbeat” and the medium rock tempo combine to make this a real crowd-pleaser!
