Five to seven full octaves of handbells are required to perform this highly coloristic original composition from the pen of "the Father of Handbells", Don Allured has long been known for vibrant original works and this one is no exception. Open, but full textures move through moderate and adagio passages with dynamic and tempo fluctuations that express the emotion of the music.

Three octaves of optional chimes lend their ambiance to this medley of three Eastertide hymn tunes: TRURO, LANCASHIRE, and DIADEMATA. Each tune has a different musical treatment.

The texture of this expressive work starts simply and then builds into a strong, fully-scored section. This section is abruptly followed by a passage of etheral sound produced by echo and mallets on suspended bells techniques. The opening material returns and builds to a strong finish.

Commissioned in memory of 21 lives lost on board the TWA flight 800 in July of 1996, this beloved Philip Bliss hymn tune, VILLE DU HAVRE, has a score for optional 3 octaves of chimes, violin or flute. On July 21, 1996 an angle cloud appeared above the bereaved community along with 21 smaller clouds and two rainbows.
